Hannibal King

What you can do during commercial break, is checking out Hannibal King’s music. This New York-based hip-hop producer from Southside Jamaica Queens has managed to fill some space up on my iPod. Click on the link to check his soulful hiphopbeats out and download the albums for FREE!

Jackie Davis / What’s the trouble (1958)

A few weeks ago, I bought an LP of Jackie Davis.
When hearing the first Hammond-tunes, I instantly became happy.
The jazzy, up-tempo organ music, replenished with drums and sometimes other instruments, easily lead to a smile on your face.
Here you can see and listen to a video of What’s the trouble.
Enjoy!

Really want to see an international artist or music group on stage? On songkick.com, you can track them and get an e-mail if the artist is coming your way. Pretty handy if you’re too lazy to search for the exact tour data, right?

The most beautiful music ever, by Tante Ans

Tante Ans has made a new song. It’s very futuristic and it maybe is a little bit different than the music you know. The song is called Hamertijdmoeders. Maybe you can sing along after a while, the lyrics aren’t so difficult. Enjoy!

P.S. Don’t take this too seriously.

MUTO: A wall-painted animation by Blu, definitely one of my favourite street artists.

Jesse Boykins III & The Park / Pantyhose, Itis & Tabloids

About Her Films was invited to sit by a rehearsal of Jesse Boykins III and his band The Park, for their show at SOM. In the video, they’re playing ‘Pantyhose’, ‘Itis’ and ‘Tabloids’. N-joy!

profetic

Profetic, a member of the dutch hiphopgroup Nation of Elzhi, will be releasing solo songs in 2011. The musician has been making music since 2005, but never produced a solo song in the time he’s been in NOE. He thought it was about time to show the world more of himself than what he did until now, to contribute more to the music world as a songwriter and hiphop artist.

The first song he released is called ‘I Wish’, where he looks back on his life and things he wish he would have done differently. Merage(MR48BARZ) takes care of the chorus and the producing of this track is in hands of Tony Tritone.
Keep an eye on Profetic, he sounds promising.
